প্রস্তুতির কৌশল
- গ্রামারের ৬০ নম্বরের বেশিরভাগই আধা নম্বরের ফাঁকা। Article, preposition আর right form of verbs-এ প্রতিটি ফাঁকার আগে-পরে পুরো বাক্যটি পড়ো; 'an unique' বা 'addicted with'-এর মতো ভুল উচ্চারণ আর collocation না জানার কারণে হয়।
- Right form of verbs-এ বাক্যের সংকেত খোঁজো: 'last year' থাকলে past, 'It is high time'-এর পরে past, 'without'-এর পরে gerund, আর 'each/everyone' থাকলে singular verb। Passive লাগবে কি না, subject কাজটি নিজে করছে কি না তা দেখে ঠিক করো।
- Narration-এ reporting verb বদলাতে ভুলো না: প্রশ্নে asked, আদেশে ordered/told, অনুরোধে requested, বিস্ময়ে exclaimed with joy/sorrow। Tense ও pronoun পরিবর্তনের পাশাপাশি উদ্ধৃতিচিহ্ন বাদ দিয়ে উপযুক্ত connective বসাও।
- Pronoun reference-এ দুজন একই লিঙ্গের মানুষের পরে 'he/him' এলে কাকে বোঝানো হয়েছে তা নামে লিখে দাও; 'They say', 'it says'-এর মতো অস্পষ্ট সর্বনাম সরিয়ে প্রকৃত কর্তা বসাও।
- Punctuation প্রশ্নে ঠিক দশটি ভুল থাকে। বাক্যের শুরুর বড় হাতের অক্ষর, নামবাচক শব্দ, apostrophe (can't, today's), প্রশ্নবোধক ও বিস্ময়সূচক চিহ্ন আর উদ্ধৃতিচিহ্নের শুরু-শেষ আলাদা করে মিলিয়ে দেখো।
- কম্পোজিশনের ৪০ নম্বরে কাঠামোই আগে: application-এ date, receiver, subject, salutation ও signature; report-এ headline, byline ও lead paragraph। Composition-এ ভূমিকা, দুই-তিনটি অনুচ্ছেদ ও উপসংহার রাখো এবং শব্দসীমা মেনে চলো; এর জন্য অন্তত চল্লিশ মিনিট সময় রাখো।
